Don't Miss Flashpoint On CBS Action
By James Whittington, Sunday 12th May 2013

The superb, nerve-shredding series Flashpoint has arrived on CBS Action. The action-packed show follows the dramatic lives of a Strategic Response Unit. Here's a quick look at the main players of this crack team.

Ed Lane (Hugh Dillon) and Gregory Parker (Enrico Colantoniare) form the team's centre of gravity, two very different men, who don’t oppose one another, but are complementary. Ed's tactical brilliance is the yin to the yang of Parker's emotional intelligence. Think of the expression, "Hope for the best, prepare for the worst," and you'e got the pair of them.

Julianna 'Jules' Callaghan (Amy Jo Johnson) is an exceptional markswoman, ex-RCMP who holds her own in the testosterone pumped team environment. She has a natural prairie-girl confidence that looks you in the face, tells it like it is and expects the truth back. Sniper Sam Braddock (David Paetkau) left military service overseas with the JTF 2 (Joint Task Force 2, Canada's elite Special Operations counter-terrorism force) to join the SRU. He’s come a long way since his arrival on the team - his cocky confidence and sense of entitlement have matured, and Sam proves himself a disciplined and crucially valuable member of the team.

Strong and passionate martial arts expert Kevin ‘Wordy’ Wordsworth (Michael Cram) possesses a very gentle soul. He is a guy you can count on, and a guy you can drink beer with. Wordy loves being a cop; he loves children and animals and women in peril. Mike 'Spike' Scarlatti (Sergio Di Zio) is the nerve centre of the team – the technician, the Bomb Tech, the guy who keeps everyone connected. He's an upbeat, likeable Italian guy who likes to see stuff blow up - very much in touch with his inner kid and fascinated with science.

Lewis Young (Mark Taylor) is a gentle, soft-spoken soul who was raised in Jamaica and then grew up on tough, inner-city streets of Toronto. As a teenager, he hung with a tough crowd whose activities got them into increasing trouble with the law… until he was turned around by a street-wise Pentecostal priest. Lou got out of the life, deciding that he wanted to serve his fellow man. Lewis became a cop – choosing the Guns and Gangs division before joining up with the SRU.

Don't miss this team in action on CBS Action weeknights at 9pm.
